“God’s Atheist” is an independent short film about a man who has been sent to Heaven -- as an angel, but there’s one problem... He’s an Atheist. He is greeted by a motley crew of comically eccentric angels who are sent to give him guidance throughout his journey.

This film is intended for festival submission, and was directed by Princess Usanga and written by Mario Horne. “God’s Atheist” was shot in New York City and Brooklyn. The film while playful with its humor and contemporary urban setting, tackles large issues of religion and the afterlife by exploring the concept of a universal heaven.

One of the most interesting aspects of the film is that Pierre, the atheist - is black. Atheism has long been a taboo within the deeply religious black community, so this film is the perfect way to represent the different voices in Black America.
